This shoot was remarkable for a number of reasons:
First, her. Her dress, her hair, her makeup…she was just FLAWLESS. I told her she is one of the most stunning brides I’ve ever seen!
Second, the wind. The wind was not just blowing–howling. It looked like it was going to be a nightmare, but alas, it actually worked in our favor.
Third, the camera. This is a classic example of why it just doesn’t matter what camera you have…it’s all about light, composition, (and of course it helps to have a beautiful subject like Kierstin). My big fancy pants camera ran flat out of batteries at the beginning of the shoot. (Gasp!) Pulled out the ‘ol backup, (my starter camera) and WHAMM-O! I’m so glad that I waited so long to upgrade cameras. It forced me to focus on my skills, rather than my equipment. Because without a few skills, it just doesn’t matter what you’ve got in your bag!
Thanks, Kierstin–this shoot was just so much for me!
